Longlegs (2024)

Quick Overview:

  • Lee is an FBI agent who is investigating a serial killer who may or may not be demonic. Longlegs follows Lee as she tries to unravel how the killings take place while also unearthing something about her own past that will change her life in horrifying ways.
  • There was a lot of hype and I was really interested to see Nicholas Cage as a serial killer…and, wow, I got more than I bargained for!

2. The Good:

  • I found that the cinematography and general vibe of this movie was creepy and unsettling. The story was intriguing, and I was curious about what would happen next. The acting was great – I really felt how tense Lee was throughout the entire movie, and Nicholas Cage as Longlegs was unnerving and shocking at times.

3. The Bad:

  • Okay, while there were a lot of things I enjoyed about this movie, there are a couple of things that left me scratching my head: When Lee thinks something or someone is outside her house, the first thing she does is run outside (leaving the door open!). While it may be because she’s a trained FBI agent and deals with these kinds of situations, I feel like it wasn’t the most logical course of action. However, maybe she runs out there because she’s under a lot of stress and isn’t making logical decisions (let me know your opinion in the comments).
  • And, well, for a movie about a serial killer called “Longlegs”, I really would have liked to have seen him more. Nicholas Cage did a great job, and it would have been nice to see him in the role more. But I guess the movie is more about Lee and how her story intertwines with him.

4. The Verdict:

  • This movie was creepy and had some tense moments – if you enjoy indie horror movies, I would suggest giving this watch! This movie is streaming, so maybe check it out on a weekend?

Rating: 4/5
